  • Member: (2020-2021)

    • As a member, I was responsible for tutoring computer science students and fulfilling
      service projects during the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • 24 hours of community service over the school year.

  • President: (2021-2023)

    • General leadership responsibilities.

    • As a president, I was responsible for setting up the organization each school year. organizing meetings, inviting members, looking for potential service projects, tutoring computer science, electing executive committee officers, and communicating with the school district to advance our honor society.

National Honor Society

Role:

  • Member: (2021-2023)

    • As a member, I was responsible for helping my community and receiving community service hours for doing so. I would gain these hours by tutoring students, trash pickup around the school, assisting in the library, and setting up school district events for the community.

    • 28 hours in my Junior year, and a projected 28 more during my Senior year (14 per semester).

UIL Academics (Computer Science Team)

  • Team Captain: (2022-2023)

    • As a team captain, I was responsible for creating a team of people to compete with me in UIL. The majority of the time was spent with me teaching my team members certain quirks about the "Java" programming language that were expected to be known for the competition, which was divided into a written test and a team programming challenge.

    • 20 hours of teaching and preparation.

  • Competitor: (2022-2023)

    • As a competitor for our UIL team, I was responsible for studying with my group and reaching my potential so our team could advance to the next level.

    • 15 hours of studying, 8-hour competition day.
